COSTA BLANCA: ATTRACTIONS / FACILITIES

Costa Blanca is famous for it's fabulous white sandy beaches many of which have been awarded the 'Blue Flag.'

A car is recommended if you wish to explore the rich variety that is Costa Blanca. Within 10-15 mins you can find plenty of opportunities for sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, tennis, scuba diving, a sports centre and plenty of shopping.

The many local villages and towns offer much in the way of local culture with various weekly markets full of fresh Mediterranean produce. The warm balanced climate has made the Costa Blanca the fruit and vegetable garden of Spain - the locals eat well. Equally abundant are leather goods, baskets, ceramics and textiles.

Algorfa, Almoradi and Los Montesinos are traditional rural villages close to the apartment with weekly markets & cafes in the plazas. The plazas have an intriging mix of 'local' and chic bars, cafe's and restaurants in which to sit and watch continental life roll by.

If you have time, venture further past the orange and lemon groves to the city of Elche with its palm trees and safari park; the Mar Menor with its mud baths; Santa Pola with its castles, museum and aquarium, or Fortuna with its roman site and hot springs for swimming and remedial benefits.

Drive in to the rugged mountains to Guadalest village with its castle courtyard. A visit to the many cathedrals, monasteries, museums, art galleries in Cartagena, Orihuela, Murcia, and Alicante will sate any desire for history and the arts.

Authentic Spain is only a half hours drive away. You will not be disappointed.

Local Health Care has excellent GP's, clinics and medical centres. The hospitals are first class - 'San Jaime' is well equipped with all the latest technology and rapid attention from bilingual staff. You can also visit the lakes and bathe in the 'mud' as the locals do - its free!

The cost of living is substantially lower than most of Europe - food is inexpensive, and a good meal with wine can still only cost £6 per head.

Airports at Alicante & Murcia are well served by virtually all low-cost /charter airlines from the many regional airports across the UK. - average flight times - just 2 hours. La Finca - Alicante - 25 miles / La Finca - Murcia - 36 miles (both approx 35 mins) using N340 & A37 motorway. (see links)

Car hire can be arranged at the office in La Finca's shopping area, if not before. (see links)
